Looks like both start date and finish date have to eb entered manually. If I enter resources and time required, can the finish date be 'computed', ie, If start date is August 3 and the task requires 16 hours, and 1 person will work on the task, the finish date should default to August 4.
Hello Marcg,
AceProject does not work that way.
You need to provide start and end dates as well as an estimated hours value for your tasks. AceProject then computes the number of hours allocated to each assigned user on the task by dividing the estimated hours on the task by the number of working days from the start to the end date.

This is a feature that ACE should consider adding. It is the purpose of using a tool to manage projects. Right now I have to create my project in another product and then enter it into ACE for my manager.
Hello smcarter,
In the soon-to-be-released 4.8, you will notice new date fields have been added to allow for the tracking of actual start and end dates. In version 4.9, there should be an automation for the actual start and end dates of tasks and projects.
